CBD FAQ
WE ENCOURAGE QUESTIONS
There are questions about cannabidiol (CBD) that we get asked frequently, so we decided to put together a list of CBD FAQs for those of you who want to learn more about this cannabinoid, its properties and effects.
What is the difference between Hemplucid products?
The difference between Hemplucid products is simply the difference between 1) speed of absorption into the bloodstream, 2) difference in taste and method of ingestion, and 3) a difference in the duration of the effects.
What is the right product for me?
There are many ways to take Hemplucid’s CBD products, each with its own benefits and drawbacks.
Hemplucid MCT Oil is extremely mild-tasting, and uses MCT as a carrier for CBD.
Hemplucid Hemp Seed Oil implements a different carrying oil, with it’s own unique health properties. This nutritious carrier oil has a much stronger flavor.
Both Hemp Seed and MCT oils are designed to be used under the tongue, and have an extended release in the body. Metabolism typically takes 6-8 hours.
Hemplucid Water Soluble CBD is fast-acting because it has nano-sized cannabinoid particles. The effects will be felt almost immediately, and the duration will be shorter, normally 2-4 hours.
Our Vape / Drip product has a rapid onset of effects, and can be taken under the tongue, mixed in juice, or added into a vape.
Because they are metabolized in the digestive system, our Gummies and Gel Caps will take longer for the effects to be felt, and the duration of effects will normally be 4-6 hours.
Effects tends to happen more quickly when using Vape / Drip or Water Soluble, but the duration of effects is shorter.
How much CBD should I take?
Dosing CBD is a relatively inexact science, since everybody metabolizes differently. Our recommended serving size is one full dropper daily. Some people experiences the best CBD effects at a lower dose than this, and some experience the best effects at a higher dose. Start by using the recommended dose, and adjust as needed. There is no unsafe amount of Hemplucid CBD.
What is the right strength for me?
CBD requires some trial and error to get the right amount for your body. With patience and practice, you should be able to get to that “happy point” within just a few days of working with it. We produce oils in varying milligram strengths so you can find the sweet spot.
What are the Benefits of CBD?
Due to FDA regulations, we cannot directly state the benefits of CBD on this website. We apologize for the inconvenience. However, we are assuming that since you are visiting Hemplucid you have heard of some of those amazing benefits. If not we encourage you to Google ‘benefits of CBD’. People generally use CBD products attempting to address issues with soreness, sleep, or stress.
CBD FAQ
Where does CBD Come from?
CBD is extracted and separated from specific varieties of cannabis, often known as hemp. Chemically, CBD is one of 100+ chemical substances known as cannabinoids, which are all found in the cannabis plant. CBD is the typically the most abundant compound in hemp, representing up to 40% of the plant.
Because our oils are extracted from hemp, you might hear this type of product referred to in a few ways: CBD-rich hemp oil, hemp-derived CBD oil, CBD-rich cannabis oil, or full spectrum hemp extracts. CBD oil is unique from typical hempseed oil sold cheaply in the grocery store because CBD hemp oil is an extraction of all aerial parts of the hemp plant, instead of only the seeds. This method of extraction produces a nutritionally robust oil.

What are cannabinoids?
Cannabinoids are the primary chemical compounds produced by the cannabis plant and there are more than 100 identified cannabinoids. Tetrahydrocannabinol (THC) is the most well-known cannabinoid produced by the cannabis plant and is the ONLY psychoactive cannabinoid. Of the 100+ non-psychoactive cannabinoids, Cannabidiol (CBD) is the most widely known.

What is full spectrum or Whole-Plant?
Hemplucid is considered a full spectrum hemp product. This means that our products provide a full cannabinoid profile that utilizes several different cannabinoids including trace amounts of THC below the federal legal limit of .3%.
CBD FAQ
What's the difference between Hemplucid and Kalki?
Hemplucid products utilize the whole hemp plant, including trace amounts of THC (less than 0.3%, which is the federal legal limit). Kalki is isolated CBD, with added terpenes.
What are terpenes?
Terpenes, unlike cannabinoids, are responsible for the aroma of cannabis. The FDA and other agencies have generally recognized terpenes as “safe.” Terpenes act on receptors and neurotransmitters; they are prone to combine with or dissolve in lipids or fats; they act as serotonin uptake inhibitors (similar to antidepressants like Prozac); they enhance norepinephrine activity (similar to tricyclic antidepressants like Elavil); they increase dopamine activity; and they augment GABA (the “downer” neurotransmitter that counters glutamate, the “upper”). However, more specific research is needed for improved accuracy in describing and predicting how terpenes in cannabis can be used medicinally to help treat specific ailments/health conditions.

What is the difference between CBD and THC?
1) The High
THC is probably best known for being the psychoactive ingredient in marijuana. CBD, however, is non-psychoactive. In other words, CBD can’t get you high.
2) Anxiolytic
THC is known to cause some people to feel anxious or paranoid. CBD is believed to have the opposite effect.
3) Antipsychotic
In addition to being non-psychoactive, CBD seems to have antipsychotic properties.
4) Legal Status
While most countries have strict laws surrounding marijuana and THC, the legal status of CBD is less clear. The FDA of the United States considers hemp oil (and it’s derivative CBD) to be a nutritional item (not a medication), since they are derived from industrial hemp plants. If you live in the US, this means you don’t need a prescription and can legally purchase and consume Cannabidiol in any state.

Are Hemplucid products organic?
What is the endocannabinoid system (ECS)?
There are two main types of receptors in the ECS, CB1, and CB2. CB1 receptors are primarily located in the central nervous system and brains of mammals, and CB2 are generally found in the peripheral nervous system. There are two main cannabinoids mammals produce- 2AG and Anandamide (named after the Sanskrit term “Ananda” which translates to “bliss”).
For hundreds of millions of years every vertebrate on Earth has been equipped with this ECS, a crucial system in the body, and it has been known about in the scientific and medical communities since the 1980’s. However, it’s still not taught about in most medical schools.
